Wet and windy Eastbourne, but who cared, I was there for a very different reason.
It had felt like so long, but it really wasn't,- seeing Victoria back where she belongs up on stage, missed that feeling, since Gypsy.  It was so good to see her again, this time in a very different production, the musical tribute to Queen- 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.  She had looked tired beforehand but was ever the professional during the show, with her wonderful powerful solos.  The outfits were colourful, dazzling and sexy.  Victoria had known I was there and had not long into the show caught my eye, giving me a nod and her warm smile.  Later after 'Killer Queen'...I got a 'point' from her, acknowledging me again in the front.  Later once back on stage, she gave me a personalized birthday acknowledgement and then launched straight into 'You're my best friend',..looking at me she gave me another warm nod as she sang the lovely words.  Which was a lovely surprise and a highlight for me! So many great performances, yet for me Victoria always stands out, delivering powerful versions in each of her stand out solos.  So much emotion and expression shines through.  The actress of course shines through!!  A beautiful rendition of 'Who wants to live forever' a duet with Jonathan Ansell, whom was amazing too.  Very moving indeed.  For me particularly sad to listen to that night, bringing my emotions to the surface.  So real, but beautiful.  Supporting Victoria comes easily, and we know she appreciates us fans' too, being everyone's 'best friend'.  Thanks for another memorable evening.

Giggin4Good July 2011

A truly magical evening in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
All for a wonderful cause, where Actors and Actresses from the West End came together
to perform in a very unique setting of St Pauls Church, in Covent Garden.  A beautiful church
with such character.  I was blown away by each and every performer that took part in such a
worthwhile event for charity.  Most of whom I had never seen perform before, but was amazed
by such individual talents all under one church roof!
Of course I was there in support of one special talent in particular, the brilliant Victoria, whom
continues to have my support, she never fails to disappoint me..with her natural talent and beauty.
Victoria greeted me with a few smiles upon seeing me in the front row from where she was seated.
She sounded magnificent and looked beautifully radiant in her blue dress.  Her heartfelt songs sang
with such emotion and connectivity to the audience brings a tear to my eye when I have the pleasure
of watching her perform.  Be it in the theatre, at a club or in a church, my experience of watching her
each time is always so very special, long may it continue.
When chatting briefly to some people in the interval, they were there in support of someone they knew,
and when I mentioned Victoria it was clear they recognized what a talent she also was!!!
Thank you again for another wonderful evening and getting to share it with you and your
lovely warm family, made it extra special.  Thanks to all involved in putting together such a faultless event.

We were very lucky to be in London at the weekend to attend Gigging For Good in Convent Garden. This was a very well organised charity event with several stars from the West End performing. Having not seen Victoria perform since January we were extra excited to be there!

Victoria holds your heart in her hands when she performs. Its a truely specialand soulfull experience. She sang three wonderful songs, 'Someone to watch over me' 'Easy to be hard from Hair' andStrong without you'. All three performances were spine tingling. It really is hard to put into words the special magic she has. Victoria has a beautiful sense of humanity inherited from her lovely parents. Its clear why fans come from far and wide to see her perform. This concert was a very special night for all her fans worldwide.

We were overwhelmed by extraordinary talent of all the performers. The intimate setting of the church made it a really appropriate place for such talent. It was a really unique experience, and a privilege to attend. Well done to all involved. We wish her all the luck in the world! x

I remember my mum brought me tickets to flashdance on my birthdday, i was so unsure at first with it being a new show and all, and i was not sure if i woudl enjoy it.. little to know it would be the start of a new 'obsession' vix's was the complete star of the show. shes incredible! she has me and my mum laughing, crying, singing along and dancing in our seats (people behind wernt very happy!)
as soon as i heard the horrible news about the show closing, i knew i had to get down there a few more times  try and meet vix's herself! so after a few exchanging tweets i worked out a day she was on and i could do, i have to admit it was a great moment being front row and having vix's waving at you at the end, well it made me smile loads!

i have to go on to say i honestly think vix's is one of the most talented poeple in the west end, and she is such an insperation for all people like me who want to go into the whole performing arts side of life, i am so proud to have met her, and i feel so provalaged to have been able to see her perform.
im going to take this opertunity to thank victoria for being so lovely and kind, and being so suportive and  for beliving and having faith in me when i diddnt.
i cant wait to see what her next adventure holds, and i hope to see her up on a stage soon!

I first went to see Victoria at West Cliff/Southend, Essex in February 2009.  Over 2 years ago!!
I love the 80's my era! and Flashdance, and Jennifer Beals...so of course I had to see this. The show was fairly near for me and was so excited to be seeing it. It was electric!! Victoria was electric!!....she really stood out for me, even back then... her co stars including Noel Sullivan and Bernie Nolan. It was a wider stage and they put so much into it... I was left just wanting more.... I wish I was able to have got back again, and I should've grabbed a chance to see Victoria at the stage door, but that wasn't to be....... a whole year passed and July 2010 I saw Victoria again, more by chance, I went to see Grease in July for my birthday, as I also love that movie and yet again did Victoria shine through and stand out for me as Rizzo, just incredible. So glad I got to see her in this role and to play such a character as Rizzo..... again I wanted to get back and see it again, mainly because of her...but just a short while after I learnt she was to have the lead role again in Flashdance, how incredibly amazing!!!  I realized only after seeing her in Grease that I had indeed seen her before in Flashdance-The Tour, at West Cliff.  Someone as talented as Victoria just stands out!!!...Then reading up on her career and what else she had been in, I soon believed that I could well have seen her at least 3 times before this.. I learnt that she was also in Mamma Mia in 2003, Saturday Night Fever, and also Fame at The Aldwych Theatre.. I got to see all three of those all around the same times that she starred in them...I am now hunting for my programmes in my loft to see whether she was in them,.definitely have a vision of her in Fame!,.....anyway I couldn't wait to see Flashdance again especially with Victoria coming back as Alex in the lead role, it couldn't get any better.  I booked immediately and fortunately got to see her in October again.  Once again she blew me away with her engery, her presence and talent... singing and dancing, just spectacular!... I so loved that show and am so sad it ended so early...the part was made for her it really was!  I had planned to get back several more times and be even nearer,..but that wasn't to be unfortunately as I lost my dog leading up to Xmas and was an emotional time.. I am fortunate though that I actually got to see Victoria again in the West End's Flashdance as well as the Tour, so am lucky, and to be able to compare the two.. they had a few differences and with extra songs in the West End and obviously different actors, apart from VHB of course!...I still really enjoyed the Tour and at West Cliff and there were slight differences, however seeing her for the first time in Flashdance I was just blown away anyway!  It was also good to see her with Noel on the Tour and then again in Grease together!  Above all else I'm a huge fan and am happy to have spotted her as my choice actress in 2009! (maybe much earlier infact!)... love her, she is amazing and seems she's such a down to earth friendly person, especially to the fans..I would have loved to have got my chance too, to meet her outside the theatre, that was always my plan, so am very jealous but of course happy for those other fans whom got to meet her!  I know my time will come. ;o)  Victoria was even kind enough to write back to me after my dog died and also said she looks forward to our photo together too, how truly sweet of her.  I know too how much of a dog lover she is just like me, and so I found some comfort there. Thank You again Victoria.

I will be a life-long loyal fan/supporter of Victoria (I only needed to see her once to come to this conclusion!)  and will continue to follow her career very closely and look forward to all that she does.  I'm sure another big juicy Lead role is waiting for her very soon... she deserves nothing less!
In the meantime I am looking forward to seeing Vic at The Roadhouse, Covent Garden on Sunday, this should be magical hearing her sing again... can't wait!! and will look out for any other gigs/appearances soon after.

All the very best for your career ahead Victoria, you are so talented and something special!
Lots of Love to You- Victoria.

I feel somewhat unqualified to comment on Victoria as I’ve only seen her perform once but as I’ve started I may as well finish!

So let’s head back to January… Musical theatre is fairly new to me and I’ve only seen a handful of shows but Flashdance was definitely on my radar and one I was dying to see. I wasn’t even aware it was closing as soon as it was. My birthday was coming up and a friend told me she’d booked something as a surprise for me but wouldn’t tell me what it was! So on the 14th my friend and I got on a train to London and I basically spent the entire journey trying to guess what we were going to see. I even mentioned Flashdance at one point and was told ‘Don’t be silly, it’s closing tomorrow, I’d never get tickets for that!’ When we arrived in London I was still clueless and wondering if I was going to have to feign excitement at some show I didn’t want to see! During a long walk in the rain I saw that we were heading towards the Shaftesbury Theatre and realised I’d been tricked and we were, after all, going to see the show I’d heard so much about and was desperate to see!

Now I’m a big fan of the film and I can’t say I wasn’t anxious to see if this woman who looked so much like Jennifer Beals could match up to her (although it was obvious that at least she would be doing all of her own dancing!) Victoria, and the show as a whole, didn’t disappoint. From the opening scenes I sat entranced and amazed at the wonderful singing, dancing and acting skills of this clearly incredibly talented woman. I laughed, cried and boogied along in my seat. Even from way up in the circle I could see that this lady was something special. I loved every second of her performance and it is a major regret that I saw the show as late as I did. I’m convinced that Flashdance would have become my new obsession and I would have been there every week!

I wish I could say I had the chance to meet Victoria but alas I didn’t. Another big regret. But I just know she will be snapped up by another show soon and I will get to see her talents in all their glory again and hopefully also get to meet her!Jo
Thanks for asking me to do a review, Im not fantastic at writing, so I hope this can do Victoria justice! I want to tell you about my first and lasting impressions of Vix and what has made me come to admire her as much as I do!

The First I'd heard of Vix was through twitter, someone retweeted something funny she had said, so naturally started following her, done a bit of research and found that she had been on tour with Flashdance and was now in Grease playing Rizzo. I really wanted to go see her, but I never got a chance which I was gutted about. However, I soon got over not seeing her in Grease, figured I'd have pleantly of new chances to see her & following her on twitter is entertainment enough!

I first found out about Flashdance through Hannah Levane, I found out she was going to be playing Kiesha, so couldnt wait to go watch, then I found out that Victoria was playing Alex, I was even more ecstatic that I would finally be able to see Vix perform & was excited to find out if the wait had been worth it..... Turns out it most definately was!

I was so excited when I had my ticket for Flashdance's first preview, I had front row tickets and was excited all day! The excitement came to a head when it turned out it the show was cancelled as there were technical difficulties, so I ended up at Grease, kinda ironic I'd end up there after wanting to see Vix in it, the night I eventually get to see her, I end up, instead, at her old home!
Anyway, I waited until Press Night for my next attempt at Flashdance! When the lights went down and the first dancer came on stage I was already captivated by the show itsself!

Then Vix came out into centre stage, before she even said or sang anything I noticed what Amazing stage presence she had, obviously it was inteded that you were to look at her, but I just found I couldnt take my eyes off her! As the performance went on, I remember thinking how amazing a dancer, singer and actress she was. I was so engrossed in the show I was totally surprised that the first act was over, after what seemed like 5 minutes! I had hardly been able to watch anything other than Vix the whole way through, I was amazed at how beautiful she was, how gorgeous her voice sounded, her dancing was outstanding and her acting was just incredible. When Act 2 started I was still falling in love with the show, then came the one scene that still mesmerises me, even just thinking about it. 'The Nightmare' scene. Vix's performance in this scene was just ridiculously amazing, not only the dancing & acting being so perfect that I had tears in my eyes, she had the ability to make it seem as if she was the only person on a packed stage, and as if I was the only person in the audience, I was totally breathtaken and drawn in to the character and how she was feeling. If you were meant to talk all the way through theatre I would have been speechless anyway! I came out of the auditorium in pure amazement at how great the show was & straight away I couldnt wait to go back. Everytime I went back after that the feeling was the same, and Vix's performances never seemed any less amazing than the first night I saw it, everytime she would pull me in, make me cry but yet smile at the same time!

The only thing left to do was meet her! The first couple of times I was far too nervous that I'd make an idiot of myself so decided it was best not to say anything, she always had other people to talk to anyway! Eventually I spoke to her, she was so lovely & I felt more of an idiot for not speaking sooner! After that its like meeting an old friend, Vix is always so friendly and welcoming and always makes time for other people.

Vix is a totally inspirational person, I feel extremely lucky to have met her and I am so greatful that I have had the opportunity to witness her Amazingness on and off stage! If I had to say one word about Vix it would be a word that has featured a fair bit in this review... AMAZING.

Thanks for reading, Steph xx :)

I'd like to say a little about why I like being a part of Team VHB.First off, I'd like to make it clear I dislike the word "fan" as a rule. Good, I'm glad that's out the way. I admire the lovely Victoria hugely. I prefer admiring people to being "a fan" of them, as admiration gives you something to look up to and aspire to be. We all know how incredibly talented she is. I first saw Victoria as a performer in 2008 during the tour of Flashdance where she originated the role of Alex that we now all love her for and I thought she was incredible. I remember reading reviews for the show and some were only so-so which I thought was a load of....must not swear....rubbish because the show was good, the cast was great and there was one heck of a leading lady! (That was Victoria, by the way).I admire her because of her talent but even more so when Flashdance closed in the West End after only four months, did we see her moan and weep? No (although she probably was). She looked on the bright side, focusing on being able to get back a social life that she had to put on hold while she shook her behind in a fetching wig every night on the Shaftesbury stage.
Also, through following her on twitter, I've found her hysterically funny, warming and she feels passionately about a lot of things. She cried watching an Iron Maiden documentary in the same way that I wept watching a Springsteen documentary.
She's the coolest person I follow, anyway.

I first saw Flashdance the musical on January 10th….I had the opportunity to go before but I didn’t take it. I have no idea why, I mean l love the movie and love anything about dance but hey ho!
Watching Flashdance I was blown away by how amazing the whole cast was. Every person on the stage was so awesomely talented, I was blown away at the thought the show was closing. I had been told how great the show was and was not disappointed. Victoria was an amazing Alex, showing throughout her talents in acting, singing and dancing, which are totally crazy sick!!! I have never wanted to see a show again so much in my life! I was so annoyed that I’d found ‘my show’ ie something I could watch forever, and or be in one day….and it was CLOSING! After chatting to Victoria at stage door, well I say chatting I smiled and nodded as she talked to my friends then said something illegible to her got a picture and left, my friend and I decided we would come back the next day. After all the show was closing and we had a limited opportunity here. And come back we did, again the show was amazing. The standard of performance was top notch, everyone gave it their all and afterward at stage door we got some great advice from Victoria, when I decided to start talking. I was well impressed, as I’m from Northern Ireland there’s normally a ‘language/accent’ barrier but Victoria was great. If she didn’t understand me she didn’t let on. Lol
I saw Flashdance 5 times in total that week; each time was amazing for its own reason. Thursday’s show was soo ridiculously funny I swear Victoria and the cast could probably hear me and my friend laughing hysterically, but what could we do….if you’re that funny I will laugh! The final shows were great to be in the audience for, TwinnieLee was also a great Alex and seeing Victoria in her show was a wee bonus J The final show killed me, the atmosphere was crazy….chatting at stage door was nuts, I had never been to a stage door before Flashdance, but Victoria was so nice every time
After Flashdance I was very excited to see when and where I would be seeing the cast again (twitterrrrr). I love finding new talent, although Victoria isn’t new to the West End, I being the country bumpkin I am, was just discovering her talent. I sense there are too many commas in that previous sentence, but I don’t know how else to write it lol So Flashdance has given me some new favourite performers and people to look up to as I train to be a performer.
I didn’t have to wait long to see Victoria again as she and Hannah came into my work shortly after Flashdance. It was awesome, she recognised me which was amazing (you don’t see Celine Dion doing that*)  and was so lovely. I have been lucky enough to see Victoria performing since in Julie Athertons concert and she really showed her metal as a singer, just her and the mic stand singing jazz…perfect. This girl will be around a long time, you don’t see talent like this every day.
*I adore Celine Dion but Victoria may have bumped her off my favourite person list due to her charm!

Victoria "Won Me Over"

The film Flashdance has always been one of my favorites, I saw it when it premiered in 1983 (yep, I'm dating myself) and I've been a fan of Jennifer Beals ever since.
In April 2010, I was planning my vacation to London in Sept. and saw that Flashdance the Musical was going to be opening in the West End.  I checked out the video of the tour, and it looked good, and I knew I had to see it.  Since it was Sept. I would be seeing it in previews, and  I was a bit leery of Victoria, could she do Alex justice, would I be comparing her to Jennifer?
Around July, I joined twitter & was looking for interesting people to follow, and bingo, I found Victoria, who was @KikiLoLaRoux at the time.  Her tweets were hilarious and she was so fascinating to me.  I also followed Arlene, Nikolai, and it was a blast to see their tweets about the progress of the show which was still in rehearsals.  Then I couldn't wait to see it and see Victoria.
So on Sept. 30th, I arrived at the Shaftsbury, I was amazed at the huge Flashdance marquee's.  I was also a bit nervous to see this musical, when the movie had such a soft-spot in my heart.  Would I be disappointed, how would Victoria be, would it have all my favorite moments in it?
Walking in and seeing the curtain, which I loved, right then I had a good feeling.  "Then the performance started, the music came up", the curtain came up and the set was amazing, with the sparks from the welders, I knew I was going to love it...then Victoria walks forward, takes her helmet off, shakes her hair, and she had me at Steel Town Sky!  I was so in awe of her dancing, OMG her dancing, she just blew me away!  And her singing & acting...I was so impressed.  Her performance in the nightmare scene was so gut wrenching, it made me very emotional.  She had such a spark & energy on that stage, she was a standout!  Her Alex was tough, yet feminine, sexy and very likable.  She won me over...Jennifer who?
I then met her at the stage door, and she was more lovely & sweet that I could have imagined, and spent more time with me than I could have hoped for.
When I got home from my trip, I couldn't stop thinking about the show, I rented Flashdance the film, and I could hardly stand it, it was so boring compared to the musical.
I had something in Dec 2010 I was thinking of going to Oxford for, but really didn't want to travel that time of year.  But, I wanted to see Flashdance again so bad.  So with a little chat with Victoria, she sealed the deal for me, and I decided to go to Oxford and spend time in London too, so I could take in Flashdance and other shows.  I'm so glad I did, I saw it 6 more times.  I loved the changes, the frozen show was perfect, it had all my favorite moments in it.  How could it close, I thought it would run a very long time.  I still miss it.  But, the last time I saw Victoria, I told her I'd see her again, and I know I will...
One last thing, I have to thank Victoria, because of her, I've met some of her other supporters, and I've made some good friends, she's changed my life...everything happens for a reason...

Kathy (An American fan)

My sister and I went to see Flashdance in late October while on holiday from Dublin. We always come to London to see the musicals when we get breaks from work. We had never heard of Flashdance, and knew nothing at all about the show or the film. From the moment it started we were absolutely blown away by Victoria.  She captures your total attention and gets so into the heart of the character. She moves you into another world and you forget about everything. Her stage presence is incredible, you love the character so much it gets into your soul and you feel like you are the only person watching!!
Her dancing and singing was world class also, I have never seen a female lead dance before like this, it’s like she has this amazing spirit that comes through when she dances. The whole company were terrific but Victoria's performance stays with you well after the show ends. We couldn’t stop thinking about the show and how much Victoria can move an audience when we came home.
We came again twice in January but her lovely understudy Amy was on.   We were however very determined to experience the amazing Victoria magic again so we also came to the final show. She doesn’t disappoint the second time as was clear for all to see with the amazing response she got from the audience after her big dance scene, it was a wonderful moment. We feel blessed to have seen her in Flashdance.
We met her afterwards and she was nicer than we could have ever imagined, she spent ages with all her different fans that had come to see the last show. We were and still are so shocked that it closed early!!  We feel very blessed to have seen her in Flashdance.
Victoria is a huge inspiration to people everywhere and a highly talented actress. She will always have a special place in our hearts as her Irish Fans. We only wish we had seen some of her other shows.
However we feel this is only the beginning for Victoria. We will be only delighted to support whatever she does next. She is a true star and deserves all the success in the world!!!
