YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

At what age did you begin performing?
Performing must of been when I was about 7 years old, at the local
dance school shows, that we would put on in the summer and at Easter, Christmas and whatnot.

What is your earliest memory of performing to an audience?

School Christmas play when we put on a Nativity and I played a 'Shepherd Boy' because the boy I fancied from my class was a 'Shepherd Boy' too and all the girls shunned me because I didn't wanna be an Angel like them....the things you do for boys hey? There the girls were in pretty poufy rigouts and myself in rags for the boy I loved....those dumb Angels!

Is there anything in particular that made you realise you wanted to perform?

I have a lot of memories as a kid being infatuated with Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French, I remember wanting to be just like them...and then I ended up going to dance lessons, so go figure..? But I guess that was cool too.
Who is/was your idol?
As a child:  Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders,  Anita Baker, Sada, George Michael, Gloria Estefan, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Meatloaf, David Bowie and KYLIE!
And now: Marion Cotillard, Robin Williams, Vincent Cassel, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Audrey Tautou, Bill Murray, Emma Thompson, Iron Maiden ,Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Janis Joplin, Bette Lavette...These are all people I truly admire, but I think you should be careful on who you wanna be calling your Idol...we shouldn't feel the need to have an Idol (someone you want to be like, to live your life by) but 'Inspirational Talent' is more helpful and beneficial.

Of all the shows you have done so far is there one that has been a particular favourite?
I think the first ever job you'll do will be the most close to your heart. I couldn't believe my luck when I got "Oh What A Night!" playing the role of Cat, but going through the motions working on Flashdance for the tour was an Incredible experience, finding the character of Alex Owens and exploring the script for the first time.

What is your favourite, singing, dancing or acting?

In my order: Acting, Singing, Dancing...I'd swap hundred's of songs and dances for one Electrifying scene any day.

Do you prefer being in the West end in a show or going on tour with a show?
I used to love going on tour when I was younger, or single but when you have a Hot Blonde at home, I can't bare to leave him.

What was your favourite part of Flashdance, either on tour or in the West end?

On tour it might have been the argument seen with Hannah Owens and The Nightmare. In town the water drop dance I was enjoying very much and again the argument with mum.

Have you ever forgotten a line on stage or had any other disaster happen?I've had the lot happen to me! I've forgotten lines in songs, scenes, wigs falling off many a time, horrid shine scraping accidents which I've been left numb with pain ,stuttering ,coughing fits, losing my voice and my boobs falling out of my ridiculous costumes to the front row's approval!

What’s the most random thing you’ve done a casting for?
Going in for a nappies commercial for them to tell me to put my hand on my belly so they can take a picture of my hand on my belly...?

Do you have a dream role that you would love to play? Why would you like to pay that role?

I would love to eventually get to play Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard, played by the wonder, that is Gloria Swanson....I got a couple of years yet!!!.

If there was any show you could be in what would it be and why?

Sunset Boulevard all the way...Because it would be the pinnacle role of my career, as it's the most ultimate Feline, Fantastic, Charismatic character of all time.

What’s your favourite style of dancing?

I wish I did more Latin American dancing...I think I would of got more of a kick out of it than Ballet and some other forms of dance..That is a bit of a regret of mine come to think of it,
and I never live to regret anything!

In the Video for ‘wherever I fall’ were you scared to fall backwards into the water and then have to be lifeless? No at all, I don't get afraid of things like that, but I did have the worst sinus infection from the chlorine for 2 weeks afterwards!

Did you have to do many takes for it?
Lots and lots of takes.

How many minutes were you underwater each time?

Well we were shooting under water for the best part of an hour, but not holding my breath for an hour, as that would have resulted in death and I'm still alive for now...I was under there for as long as I could take it, which was about 30 seconds or something.

Would you work on Broadway?

I would love to work on Broadway if ever given an opportunity.

If you weren’t acting what would you be doing?

I worked in London Zoo for quite a few years as a teenager on a Sunday. I would handle the ponies, donkeys, Pigs, reindeers at Christmas, goats, rabbits, some spiders, birds and snakes.
I've always said, if I didn't do what I do now, or if I ever wanted to come out of acting, I would love to look after animals again, or become a social worker and help people from all walks of life, that need a hand. Basically helping others and making myself useful there.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

South of France, Dublin, Japan..? Never been to Canada or Australia but I have a good feeling I could live there.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Married to Rory finally after having been engaged for 3 years and together for 5, with a baby, a home with some good food in the oven and all our family members sitting with us in one big room eating my mum’s Banana & walnut cake, with coffee, whilst Rory and my dad smoke cigars in the garden, whilst we moan about it in our massive kitchen about how bad it is for their health.

Do you have any plans to release an album?

It's all but speculation for the moment.

What did you have in the cup you brought out of stage door after each show?

It's a recovery drink that replaces the salts you lose during exercise, with protein, carbs, sugars with a mandarin flavour twist...it was yummers and I miss drinking it!

Where is your dream holiday spot?
Fiji, Maldives and BRIGHTON PIER!

What are your favourite 10 films you couldn’t live without seeing again?
La Vie En Rose, Old Boy, Mesrine, Fox & The Hound, Watership Down, Napoleon Dynamite, Dead Man's Shoes, Amelie, Dot And The Kangaroo, Rocky Horror Picture Show but there is so many more!

What are your favourite 10 songs you couldn’t live without listening to again?

White Room (cream), I took her love for granted(Hefner), Jezebel (Iron & wine), Babe I'm gonna leave you (Led Zepplin), Stairway to heaven (Led Zepplin) Poison (Alice Cooper) Leila (Eric Clapton) Under my thumb (Rolling Stones), Jump (Van Halen), Pour some sugar on me (Death Leppard) and one more for luck which is my guilty pleasure and the love of my life George Michael with CARELESS WHISPER!!!

What is the nicest surprise you have ever had?
Being proposed to along Kew Riverside, on a bench, just before I was about to go on tour, by my blonde fox...Basically he was pissing all over me, marking his territory so another fox wouldn't sneekly get in there first....well that's how I like to see it...so romantic!

We know you can say some pretty amusing random things yourself...but what's the most random thing anyone's said to you at stage door or just in life in general?

Well when someone tells me that I'm their Idol I get petrified..First of all I thought It was a lot of pressure, as I never wanted to have such an influence on young girls and boys as they were expecting and hoping from me..I thought to myself you gotta be mad...if they new half the things I've seen or done they would be horrified as would their folks!
Also when I was touring Japan, there was this guy that would follow the show from city to city and he would take the same picture of me every time and that was I had to put my hand into a fist up to my chin, whilst the elbow rested on my other hand...it was creepy and I did it for him every time, until one day I told him that I will no longer let him take that picture, he then stopped asking me as I wouldn't do the first thing...He must of taken at least 500 pics of the same pose over and over again...If you've been to Japan you will know that 500 pictures isn't unusual..He later had to be removed from my hotel lobby.
I loved Japan and would love to live there for a few years. The standard of living is so superior and has my favourite food!

What’s the nicest thing a fan has ever said to you?
I've had some lovely things said to me where I've cried on the spot, where in return I look like a crazy lady and have lost my cool..but at least I lost my cool in the most touching and supportive way possible...beats crying at the yellow pages advert in front of people I don’t know, as we know that's not cool and as we know of course it happened to me!

What is the best thing for you about having fans?
The incredible amount of support they have given me in times where I've felt tired, weak, sometimes over it with exhaustion and anxiety, unconfident in what I'm actually doing! They have brought so many smiles.
How they have got to know me and all the things I like, traits of my personality, what I like to eat.
I'm spoilt when it comes to them, especially when I know how some of them have travelled down or up so far to come and see me in what I'm doing that night, how some with so little money they may have after having bought ridiculously expensive tickets!
I appreciate them all and hope for their continued love and support because their Frickin Rockin Awesome!....ACEBALLS!
